What Makes a Good Blog?

I want the class to come up with our own criteria for our blogs. So I ask: What makes a good blog? Consider content, format readablity any of the six traits. Make a comment and read what others think.

A good blog. I have been formated to think that a good blog is usually depressing and involes a lot of metaphors for Cutting. I am hoping this conditioning is not entirely true.

For me a good blog is something that is visually "easy" and interesting, and the writing must be either amazing or interesting. A blog that would be considered good to me is people's writing that they have posted. Writing that does not have to do with Angelina Jolie's valuptuous lips, mayonnaise on pastrami sandwitches as sin in New York city or anything about any type of fetish. I really could do with out.

Writing community blogging might be the only effective way to go in my opinion.

In order for a blog to be say respected it must have everything spelled right, grammer must be correct, and there must correct sentance structure. The presentation of the topic should be clear without any question so people are able to state their opinion clearly. I would personally would like the origonal statement to have as little bias as possible. Because blogs are all about hearing other peoples views, it should be presented in a way that shows they really are open for what others want to share.
All of this is just what I would like to see in a blog and does not mean that I think they should all be like this.

I find myself looking through several pointless, meaningless blogs...But once I filter through those, I am sometimes lucky enough to find a blog actually worth my time. I realize the blogs that are good to me, are the ones that include:

-Accurate information

-An open-minded author

-Perhaps different points of view

-A worthwhile subject

-Backround information

-Really, just blogs where the person has a motive to create a different outlook for the reader.

-A good blog also creates an urge in me to find out more and look deeper into that subject.

A good blog is one that offers a unique perspective on things. It could be a unique or new view on things, a journal of someone in an interesting situation, etc.
A blog should be easily readable. It should be easy to navigate, and it shouldn't be too tedious (colors, pictures, nice paragraphs, etc.).

I still haven't writen a blog myself, yet I have found blogs that I admire. With these blog I admire in mind; I can let you know what I believe a good blod might inculde. First of all, every blog needs an interusting topic. Something that gets the blogger noticed, and a topic that attracts many different readers. Also, this blog must have character, and a personality. Usually, if a blog is uninterusting, a person would pass by and go to the next. So really, a good blog is one that has a good topic and personality.

what makes a good blog?
people that create blogs that are easily written and contain interesting subjects/ activities are the best to read. I find celebrity gossip, comedy, and deep depression hilarious. blogs that are easy to make fun of , most likely become the best to read and contribute to. Very personal blogs creep me out and make me wonder why they are telling the whole world their deepest feelings. most definately someone across the world cant help them.

Blogs need to be honest. They don't need to be 100% right because everone makes mastakes, but lies are unacceptable. As long as the blog isn't in short text like "u 2 r so cute" then spelling isn't such a big thing. Contenet is huge though. A blog must be interesting (well if the author wants others to read it). The content needs detail on the important part and not any added fluf. A blog also needs to be accesable to the desierd audience. The author needs to not be afraid of going deep into a topic.

To me, a good blog is either informative, or entertaining, and a great blog is both. Beyond that, interesting blogs need to voice a strong opinion, and do it without overcomplicating anything. While wading through the sea of blogs, I found myself drawn more to contreversial and biased blogs. Why? For me, blogs mean getting inside annother person's head, and seeing what they're thinking, and feeling about any given subject. And often times, the subject of a blog can determine its potential fate...writing about an interesting subject, provokes thought, which promotes(?) good blogging and e-disscussion.

i think what makes a good blog is something thats interesting to read, and is abel to hold peoples attenetion. cause mainly people write blogs for extended periods of time. although i dont like many blogs. most of them are just people writing about how much their life is awsome, or how much it sucks. i find that its weird to have people from china being abel to know what you did last weekend, or how your boyfriend dumped you.

A good blog should be based off the intererest of the creater. The person writing their blog should certainly have a passion for their subject, whether it is the war in iraq, or cooking hobbies. When people are interested in something, it can inspire other people to also gain an interest. Colors, pictures and interesting comments will also keep the reader interested. The internet is popular, and people are looking for new blogs all the time.

Blogs,
Just a few days ago I started my first blog. I didnt' really have any idea what they were, or how to use them. So far i think blogs are really interesting, and I have learned that you can learn a lot about a person or an organization just by looking at their blog. Feel free to look at what I have so far.
